I have always used artistic work to help my community, using film, music, and poetry for social impact. Art is powerful; it brings people together. Art is a unifying factor, and I take advantage of that by using it as a tool for togetherness.
My team and I work to highlight, support, and empower young people through art. I am a skilled storyteller and believe in the power of stories. My project is based on facts and evidence. All my stories are reliable and help fight false information, which harms society. I received a life-changing chance that helped me and the Kibanda Project Organization.
I was part of a selection of 12 journalists from East and Central Africa who were to be trained on OSINT, investigative storytelling, AI, and other aspects of producing evidence-based projects. This is a one-year fellowship program that will culminate in the production of various projects highlighting problems we face.

Workshop Overview
In late 2025, the Witness.org team organized a one-week workshop in Nairobi, Kenya. During this period, as part of the program implementation, twelve of us convened for an intensive learning experience Consequently, this setup allowed us to focus fully on learning and collaboration. Moreover, it fostered a strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose throughout the week.
Throughout the week, we took part in structured and hands-on sessions.
As a result, in doing so, we strengthened our ability to create compelling and factual stories. These stories support accountability and the pursuit of truth.
OSINT and Information Analysis
In addition, we explored OSINT, or Open Source Intelligence. This approach focuses on using publicly available data to verify facts.
Today, a large amount of information exists online. However, when we analyze it carefully, we can uncover reliable evidence.
Through this process, we improved our critical thinking skills. Moreover, OSINT showed us how data strengthens transparency and accountability.

At the same time, we discussed AI and its growing role in our lives. Since AI is unavoidable, we focused on using it responsibly.
Consequently, I learned how AI can enhance storytelling. It can support research, structure narratives, and improve efficiency.
In practice, we call this approach hybrid storytelling. It allows AI to complement human creativity while saving time.
Closing and Fellowship Continuation
Finally, the training ended with a meditation session. This moment encouraged reflection and bonding. Afterward, we shared a group dinner at Carnivore Restaurant. It marked a meaningful close to the week.
Moving forward, the fellowship continues for one year. Most collaboration will take place virtually.
